A quote checker for Oopbuy prices
Two minutes, two numbers from any Oopbuy quote, and you have the rate it used and how far it sits from a mid-market rate you trust. Then convert any listing price at that rate.
Check the rate on any Oopbuy quote
Fill in part 1 from any two figures Oopbuy shows for the same thing, ideally a shipping line from the public estimator. Part 2 then uses the rate you just found to convert any listing price.
How to use the quote checker
- Run the public estimator twice for the same parcel: once in your currency, once in CNY.
- Type the yuan figure for one line into the first box and the figure in your currency into the third.
- Pick your currency. The mid-rate box fills with our last reading; replace it with today's rate from your bank app.
- Read the rate Oopbuy used and the gap. Compare the result with the dated observation only after checking that the currency, quote basis and reference time match.
- Type a listing price in yuan into part 2 to see what the gap means for that item.
The tool runs entirely in your browser. It sends nothing and stores nothing. If you change currency without entering your own figures, it uses the divisor we read for that currency so part 2 still works.
Which figures to feed it, and which to avoid
- Use struck-through list prices from the estimator, not coupon prices. Coupons apply to part of a quote and round on their own.
- Prefer a large figure. Rounding to the cent distorts small amounts; a 1,000 yuan line gives a cleaner ratio than a 30 yuan one.
- Use the same moment for both figures. If you read the yuan price today and the dollar price next week, a divisor change would hide inside the gap.
- Take the mid rate from a source that labels itself mid-market or a central-bank reference. A card's own rate already includes its margin.
The checker cannot see your PayPal fee or your bank's own conversion. Those come on top, at top-up, and are covered on the payment path page.
What the result can and cannot tell you
A similar gap does not prove the printed rate stayed unchanged: the reference market rate and the quote can both move. A much smaller gap means either the divisor was updated or the market moved; check the date and the readings log.
The result cannot tell you what you will be charged in total. Conversion is one cost among several: any payment-channel charge, declaration or route fee, optional services and applicable destination charges. Costs, line by line puts them in one place.
Nor does it judge Oopbuy against anyone. A currency spread and a service fee can apply to different bases. Compare the same basket and shipping service using the total payable amount rather than ranking two percentages in isolation. Use the checker on each agent you consider and compare the totals.
