Oopbuy basics: the agent, a first order, and when to look elsewhere

What Oopbuy is, how a first order runs from a finds-list card to your door, why someone would pick it, and when another agent may suit you better.

What is Oopbuy and who runs it

Oopbuy is a shopping agent: it buys items for you from Chinese marketplaces, receives them at its warehouse in Xiamen, inspects and photographs them, stores them, and ships them to you. You pay the agent; the agent pays the seller. It acts on your behalf because most Chinese shops do not ship abroad or take foreign cards.

The operator named on its contact page is Openbuy Technology HK Limited, company number 77213008. Its search covers Taobao, 1688 and Weidian, Tmall is mentioned in the beginner's guide, links from other shops go through DIY orders, and Oopbuy also runs its own mall. There are iOS and Android apps.

Its About page says it has offices in the United States, China and elsewhere and serves key regions in 45 countries. Those are the company's own statements; we have not verified them.

How to start a first order with Oopbuy and this list

  1. Pick a category on the Spreadsheet page and open a listing you like.
  2. Copy the listing link and paste it into Oopbuy's search bar. Choose size and colour and add a note if needed.
  3. Top up and pay the first payment: item price plus the seller's domestic freight.
  4. Wait for the item to reach the Xiamen warehouse. Check the free QC photos; ask for a detail photo if needed.
  5. When everything has arrived, submit a parcel: pick a line, packing options and declaration.
  6. Pay the second payment for international shipping, then track the parcel to your door.

At steps 3 and 6 money is converted at the printed rate. The payment path page covers both in detail, and the quote checker lets you check either one.

Why choose Oopbuy, and what is the same everywhere

Start with what every agent does: buys from the same marketplaces, ships from China with similar carriers, offers QC photos, and charges you in yuan underneath whatever your screen shows. None of that sets Oopbuy apart.

What does: a stated zero service fee; a public estimator that needs no account and shows every line in 19 currencies; 90 days of free storage from receipt; a five-day return window after stocking; a large official Discord; and a rate you can read from its own numbers in minutes.

And when to pick another agent: if you want a conversion close to the mid rate and are happy paying a visible fee instead; if your hauls are heavy and shipping is most of the bill; if you need a line to your country that Oopbuy does not run; or if a contradiction between its pages, such as the four storage limits, matters to how you shop. Honest answers here are the reason to read the rest.

Why use this Oopbuy Spreadsheet

Most finds lists stop at the link. This one follows the money one step further, to the rate that turns a yuan price into the figure on your screen. That is the only thing we claim to do differently, and we keep it narrow on purpose.

How the list is kept: category links are tested before each update; rates are re-read from the public estimator and set against two public references; every reading is dated and logged; and anything we could not verify is labelled as such. Dead links get removed rather than left to rot.

What it is not: a seller rating, a price tracker or a coupon site. If you need those, other sites do them. If you want to know what you are paying for the currency, this is the page that was written for that.

Who is responsible at each hand-off?

The catalogue helps discovery. The seller controls the listing, stock and product supplied. Oopbuy can purchase supported items and process warehouse and parcel services. The carrier controls its transport scans and delivery operation. Contact the party handling the current stage, and keep the original listing and relevant order or parcel identifier together.

This explains why a successful item payment is not a shipping confirmation, why a QC photograph is not a guarantee of fit, and why an agent service-fee statement does not describe your full delivered cost. Use the illustrated guide to identify the stage you are at.
